Hot Weather

With high temperatures forecast for next week, we would like to share the arrangements we will have in place to help keep all children safe and comfortable.
In school, we will be doing everything we can to keep classrooms as cool as possible. This will include keeping windows and doors open where appropriate and closing blinds to reduce direct sunlight. Staff will also closely monitor all children to ensure their wellbeing throughout the day.
We kindly ask for your support with the following:
- Water bottles: Please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school each day. Children will be encouraged to drink regularly and refill their bottles as needed.
- Sun protection:
- Children should wear a sun hat.
- Please apply sun cream before school, as children will be outside during break and lunchtime.
- We will make a small number of classrooms available for children who prefer to spend time indoors in the shade during breaks.
Uniform adaptations (next week only):
To help keep children cool during the hot weather, children may come to school wearing their PE kit for the duration of next week.
If your child is comfortable in their usual summer uniform, they are very welcome to continue wearing it.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe and comfortable during the warmer weather.
