Attenborough Day

Did you hear us on BBC Radio Leicester’s Breakfast Show on Friday? Sound on to listen to our Eco Ambassador share with their listeners what we were doing on Friday to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.

Inspired by Sir David’s lifetime of work exploring the natural world and championing the protection of our planet, we spent the day immersed in nature and learning how small actions can make a big difference.

Across the school, children enjoyed a range of outdoor activities, including minibeast hunts, litter picking, planting flowers, exploring the trees and wildlife around our school, and a visit to Hursley Park to discover how green spaces can be developed to support biodiversity.

It was a wonderful day of hands-on learning, helping children deepen their understanding of the world around them and the importance of caring for it.

A huge thank you to our parent volunteers for helping make the day such a success. The children (and staff) had an absolutely fantastic time!
