Key Stage 2 Sports Day

What a mixed bag of weather we had for our Key Stage 2 Sports Day!
Determined to make the most of the dry spell, we got underway with some fantastic field events, including a few new additions to the programme. The children thoroughly enjoyed testing their skills in the distance throw and the balancing beanbag race, alongside Sports Day favourite, the ever-popular egg and spoon race. All of this took place in glorious sunshine, with plenty of cheering and encouragement from teammates and spectators alike.
Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas! As the rain clouds rolled in, we quite literally had to race through the running events before the downpour eventually got the better of us and brought the afternoon to an early close.
While we weren't able to complete every event, we will be finishing the remaining activities soon and adding the final scores together to determine this year's House winners. Watch this space!
A huge well done to all of the children, who showed fantastic enthusiasm, determination and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon, whatever the weather.
And finally, thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support, and for your understanding when the weather forced us to not just rearrange but also cut the event short. We really appreciate your support — even in the rain!
