What Do Parents Do All Day?

As part of our new Wednesday assembly feature, 'What Do Parents Do All Day?' – where children hear from parents about their jobs and careers – we welcomed Mr Steward, who gave a fascinating insight into life as an airline Captain.

The children were captivated as they learnt all about being a pilot, including how planes fly and the science behind thrust, lift, drag and weight. They also discovered what happens during the different stages of a flight and heard about the many people involved in getting an aircraft safely into the sky, from engineers to weather teams and cabin crew.

As always, the children had lots of brilliant questions and were eager to find out more about this exciting career.

A huge thank you to Mr Steward for giving up his time to inspire our pupils with such an engaging and enjoyable talk.

Could you volunteer for a future 'What Do Parents Do All Day?' assembly? We'd love to hear about your job, hobby or passion. If you'd like to get involved, please email the school office. Grandparents and other significant adults are very welcome too!
