Children’s Mental Health Wee

At the end of last term, we marked Children’s Mental Health Week by taking part in a special live assembly focused on this year’s theme, “This Is My Place.”

We listened to author Katie Hopper introduce her new book Sylvia’s Candle, which sparked thoughtful conversations about belonging, feeling safe, and finding places where we can truly be ourselves.

In Key Stage 2, the children spent the afternoon reflecting on why our classrooms are such positive places to learn and grow, as well as thinking about their own special places. They created beautiful positivity pouches, filled with affirmations and reminders of just how unique and valued they are.

Supporting our children’s wellbeing is at the heart of what we do. Helping them recognise their worth and feel confident in who they are is such an important life skill.
