Today, we celebrated someone very special.

After almost 25 years of dedicated service to Great Bowden Academy, Mrs Cheryl Cole will be retiring next week. Over the years, she has touched the lives of countless children and families, and her kindness, warmth, expertise and wonderful sense of humour have made her a much-loved member of our school community.

To celebrate everything Mrs Cole has given to our school, the whole school came together for a special picnic and party on the field. The children looked fantastic, all 'dressed as Mrs Cole' – a surprise that certainly gave her a giggle!

With music, singing, sunshine and plenty of smiles, it was a joyful afternoon and a fitting way to show Mrs Cole just how much she means to us all. We even rounded off the celebrations with ice lollies for everyone. The perfect way to cool down on such a beautiful day.

Mrs Cole has been far more than a Teaching Assistant. She has been a source of encouragement, comfort, laughter and unwavering support for generations of children. Her impact on our school has been immeasurable, and while she will be greatly missed, we know she leaves with the love and gratitude of our entire school community.

From everyone at Great Bowden Academy, thank you Mrs Cole, for your incredible dedication over the years. We wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement filled with new adventures, laughter and time to do all the things you love.
