Vision and Values
At Great Bowden Church of England Academy, our vision is inspired by the words of Isaiah 58, where we are encouraged to be “like a well-watered garden.” This beautiful image reflects our commitment to creating a school where every child is nurtured, supported and able to flourish.
A well-watered garden is cared for, protected and given what it needs to grow. In the same way, we believe that when children feel safe, valued and encouraged, they develop strong roots, grow in confidence and blossom into compassionate, courageous and joyful individuals.
Our vision calls us to:
- Do what is right, even when it is hard
- Care for others and make a positive difference
- Repair and rebuild when things go wrong
- Celebrate diversity and flourish together.
Rooted in our Christian foundation, our values of Courage, Compassion and Joy guide everything we do.
Courage: “We are brave.”
We stand up for what is right, try new things and keep going when learning feels challenging.
Compassion: “We care.”
We notice when others need help and choose to act with kindness.
Joy: “We shine.”
We are thankful, hopeful and share happiness with others.
While our vision is grounded in Christian teaching, the values we promote are shared by people of all faiths and none. They provide a strong moral framework that helps our whole community live and work well together.
Through our vision and values, we aim to grow confident, thoughtful young people who bring light, hope and kindness into the world — true change-makers of the future.
